Marvin Wilcher

Mr. Wilcher’s business career dates back to 1986. While providing business-consulting services to an asset based lender, he was requested to assist in the purchase of a pre chapter 11 furniture company with the goal of restructuring, renaming, and selling. This transaction took approximately 4 months, and provided Mr. Wilcher with a handsome profit and his first post-acquisition management and workout experience.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Wilcher began providing consulting services to small business owners and investors whom he assisted in the purchasing of troubled companies. Among other transactions, Mr. Wilcher purchased a second troubled furniture company, a computer software company, and a chain of video rental stores. All of these experiences gave Mr. Wilcher great exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of personnel management, budgeting and cost cutting, marketing and acquisition contract negotiations under difficult conditions.
In 1992, Mr. Wilcher purchased several pre-liquidation metal fabrication companies in the industrial equipment, aerospace and medical instrumentation industries. Although the companies were substantially under-capitalized and had declining sales, Mr. Wilcher was able to successfully increase sales and restructure the companies. During this time, Mr. Wilcher learned extensively about manufacturing businesses, from valuations to strategic pricing.
Since 1986, on behalf of investors and himself, Mr. Wilcher has visited and analyzed the plants and facilities of more than 400 manufacturing and distribution companies across the globe. He has additionally reviewed and analyzed the financial statements of another 500 companies in various industries. Through this process, Mr. Wilcher has developed a keen sense of what makes companies successful and what causes them to fail. Over this same period of time Mr. Wilcher has arraigned more than $65,000,000 in Financing's for these companies. Over the years Mr. Wilcher has been involved with such complex transaction as the acquisition of the world’s largest defense based circuit board manufacturer divested by Raytheon in 1999 winning in the first round against TYCO electronics, to the acquisition of a music distribution company with annual sales over $100,000,000.
Since 2006 Mr. Wilcher has focused a great deal of time in the renewable energy business with his investment Solar Capital Inc; an angel investment company focused on the Solar Industry. Solar Capital has made a number of investments in various companies including an investment in a next generation solar panel that produces nearly double the effiency of the standard solar panel.
Mr. Wilcher attended St Mary’s college in their Paralegal program and later went on to attend San Francisco law school. Additionally, Mr. Wilcher’s creative experience’s include producing Beauty Pageants, plays and musical revues.
